Bare bodywork is one long thermal bridge: it radiates cold in winter, stores heat in summer and collects condensation behind every panel. This kit gathers the quantities an L3H3 conversion actually uses (Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper, Renault Master, Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit in L3H3 and equivalents), in the thickness each area calls for, so you order once and insulate the whole van in one go.
What is in the kit
- Walls and ceiling — your choice of 4 rolls of Armaflex AF 19 mm (24 m²) for the standard version, or 6 rolls of Armaflex AF 25 mm (24 m²) for reinforced insulation.
- Floor, ribs and wheel arches — 1 roll of Armaflex AF 10 mm (10 m²), thinner and more flexible, to follow the shapes without losing height.
- Joints and finishing — 2 rolls of Armaflex AF tape, 15 m each.
- Surface preparation — 1 Armaflex Cleaner, 1 L, to degrease the metal before laying.
19 mm or 25 mm: which version?
The 19 mm version is what most conversions settle on: enough for winter use, and it keeps the interior width. The 25 mm version is for vans used out of season or exposed to wide temperature swings, where you can afford the extra centimetre on the walls and ceiling.
Before you start
Clean and degrease the bodywork with the cleaner supplied. Lay the Armaflex on dry bare metal, with no air gap behind it, then seal every joint with the AF tape. Count about 10 % extra for cuts on complex panels.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a separate vapour barrier? No. Armaflex AF is its own vapour barrier, provided every joint is sealed with the AF tape included and the foam sits directly on the metal, with no air gap behind it.
Is this enough for my whole van? The kit covers 34 m² of foam: the walls, the ceiling, the floor, the ribs and the wheel arches of a standard L3H3. Measure your panels first if your van has a raised roof or a stretched rear overhang — you may need one extra roll. A question or a doubt? Our technical team will answer you.
